S.P.A.C.E…

That’s what I’m claiming for myself for a little while.

I’m Rebecca (Beks) Hourston, and as one of the UK’s pioneer coaches (having done my initial training in 2003), going strong over twenty years later, heading into autumn 2024 I decided it was time to hit pause.

I LOVE what I do.  I have LOVED my last decade working for Talking Talent, most recently as Global Head of Coaching, driving the coaching strategy and leading a fabulous, diverse, global team of coaches.  What a privilege to be a leader in an fast-growing organisation on a mission to make a difference to a million lives.

My deepest satisfaction professionally is creating the magic of women coming together to accelerate achievement, fulfilment, change and connection.  I believe coaching is the best platform there is for this.

And life is fuller than work.  My eldest son starting uni has definitely woken me up more than ever to the swift passage of our children through our lives and I want to be more around for the others.  I have recently reignited my love of horse riding.  I have a thousand-and-one creative projects at home, big and small, that forever were getting bumped.  All this and more, niggling at me for change.

So I took the (hard) decision to step down as Global Head of Coaching at Talking Talent and Claim. My. Space.

I don’t fully know (yet) how the next season will unfold for me.

But I feel very peaceful.  And spacious.

What’s for sure is that coaching women on their leadership journey will remain at the heart of who I am and what I do.  It’s my superpower – swiftly creating warm, safe, inspiring spaces for people to open up, find and be their truest selves.

While I hibernate a while, this website is minimal.  I will have occasional spaces for coaching 1-1 with women who want to move mountains – whether that’s shifting career, stepping up, improving self-belief, finding greater balance, juggling life pinchpoints like parenting and menopause, navigating tricky situations, leading change.

And I will continue to relish bringing women’s leadership development programmes to life in forward-thinking organisations wanting to better progress female talent and achieve their goal of gender parity at the top, working as an Associate Coach for a very select group of coaching organisations whose values and purpose I align closely with.
